The most reliable B2B ecommerce platforms for manufacturers in 2026

For a manufacturer, a reliable webshop means more than uptime. Dealers can still order on Monday when the ERP sync failed over the weekend, upgrades take days rather than months, and every distributor sees their own prices.
This guide ranks the B2B ecommerce platforms manufacturers shortlist most often in 2026. Vendure comes first because it is built for exactly this: one catalogue sold through dealers, distributors, key accounts, and direct buyers, each with their own prices and rules, connected to the ERP you already run. After Vendure we cover Adobe Commerce, SAP Commerce Cloud, Sana Commerce, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, commercetools, Spryker, Intershop, Shopware, and OroCommerce, and where Vendure is ahead of each.
Start with your situation
Two questions rule out half the list before the first demo: which ERP you run, and how you sell.
- You sell through dealers and direct, with customer prices, approvals, or configured productsVendure
- Several brands, regions, or sales channels from one backendVendurecommercetoolsSpryker
- A first B2B store beside your consumer shop, from one catalogueVendureShopify PlusBigCommerce
- You run Magento today and want to moveVendureAdobe Commerce
- SAP runs the business, and you sell to large procurement teamsVendureSAP Commerce CloudIntershop
- Your ERP is SAP or Microsoft Dynamics, and it must own every priceVendureSana Commerce
If more than one row fits your specific case, start with the one that best describes your ERP.
What reliable means for a manufacturer
Most platforms run on a major cloud provider, so these five things matter more than uptime:
Orders keep flowing when the ERP does not answer. ERPs go slow, and network calls drop. A reliable setup holds the order, retries the step that failed, and alerts someone if it cannot recover. An unreliable one loses the order or leaves the dealer stuck at checkout.
Upgrades leave your customisations alone. If your changes live in your own code, an upgrade does not touch them. If someone patched the platform's core, every major release is a merge and a round of testing.
B2B rules are built in. Each app that adds a B2B feature is another vendor, another data model, and another thing that can break when you upgrade.
You own the code and the data. Ask what happens to your webshop if the vendor changes its terms or retires the product. With Vendure, your code and your data stay yours, and you can run them on your own infrastructure if you choose.
The price is predictable. A fee that grows with order value turns a good sales year into a bigger platform bill. Our guide to B2B ecommerce total cost of ownership shows how that adds up.

Vendure is the ecommerce platform for complex B2B: customer-specific pricing, company accounts, and approvals on one adaptable platform, with the APIs to connect your ERP. It is built for the manufacturer whose dealer network, key accounts, and direct buyers all buy the same products on different terms, and who wants one platform for all of them instead of one per route to market. Vendure has been in development since 2018, and its plans are built around B2B buying: Growth was designed specifically for manufacturers and distributors whose customers have branches and buy by the unit, box, or pallet.
One catalogue for every route to market
Each route to market runs as its own channel on one Vendure deployment. A dealer catalogue, a key-account portal, and a direct storefront share one product record, and each channel overrides only what differs: prices, translations, or availability. Change a product specification once and it reaches every route to market at the same time. Dealer prices are set per company, so direct buyers never see them.
Five models the channels primitive supports
The B2B rules manufacturers need, built in
Vendure's plans add B2B features in layers, and each plan includes everything in the one before:
- Starter ($229 a month): company accounts with several buyers, quote requests, quick order by part number, and one-click reorder.
- Growth ($689 a month): dealer groups with their branches, and selling by the unit, box, or pallet.
- Scale ($2,899 a month): customer price lists with start and end dates, order approvals, an audit log, and a ready-made B2B storefront.
- Enterprise (from €60,000 a year): a product configurator, quote negotiation, PunchOut, and contract prices pulled straight from your ERP.
Made-to-order products can be sold three ways, shown below. Quote requests from Starter cover most of it: the buyer describes what they need, your team prices it, and the accepted quote becomes an order. On Enterprise, the configurator prices a product from the buyer's specification, and quote negotiation handles deals that go back and forth.
- Buyer describes what they need
- Your team sets the price
- The accepted quote becomes the order
- Buyer picks size, material, and finish
- Vendure prices that exact specification
- Buyer orders at that price
- You send a quote
- Buyer asks for changes
- Revised versions until both sides agree
Built to keep taking orders when the ERP is slow
Your ERP stays in charge of the bill of materials, stock, customer master, and production schedule. Vendure owns the buying experience and connects to the ERP through its APIs and the Workflow Engine that comes with every plan. When an order is placed, the workflow pushes it to the ERP, waits for the sales-order number, and writes it back onto the order. If the ERP is slow, it retries only the call that failed, so the buyer's checkout never waits on your back office.
Each integration is built for your ERP rather than bought off a shelf, by your team, an official partner, or Vendure Professional Services. On Enterprise, the Vendure team can build it for you, including an advanced pricing connector so contract prices come straight from the system that already calculates them. See ERP and integrations.
Upgrades that do not break your changes
Your team extends Vendure in TypeScript through plugins. A custom field, a pricing rule, or a whole new workflow lives in your own code, shows up in the API and the dashboard, and survives every upgrade. Patch releases come monthly and minor versions quarterly. Your code and your data stay yours.
Proof from manufacturers and distributors
A Munich work-wear supplier, a family business since 1832, replaced an ordering portal that crashed often with a Vendure-based B2B ordering system in four weeks. Bulk reorders that took minutes now take seconds, and the system has had no downtime since launch. Swiss steel trader HANS KOHLER AG runs B2B and B2C on one Vendure platform and reports 20% more daily orders since launch.
Pricing and implementation
Plans have flat monthly prices with no fee on order value, orders, or users: Starter $229 (€199), Growth $689 (€599), and Scale $2,899 (€2,499) a month on a 12-month term, with Enterprise from €60,000 a year on contract. Every self-serve plan starts with a 30-day free trial. Implementation is priced separately and done by your own team, an official partner, or Professional Services, and on Enterprise also by the Vendure team. You can self-host Vendure on any cloud or your own hardware, or run it on Vendure Cloud, which opens as a closed beta for paid plans with general availability planned for Q1 2027. See the plans and prices, Vendure for manufacturing, and the migration guides if you are moving from Magento, Shopify Plus, Shopware, or WooCommerce.

Our comparison pages set out each platform's licence, B2B depth, hosting, and talent pool side by side with Vendure.
2. Adobe Commerce
Adobe Commerce, built on Magento, has a large extension ecosystem and a B2B module with company accounts, shared catalogs, negotiable quotes, and purchase order approvals. It is the familiar option for teams already on Magento. The B2B module needs the commercial licence, which Adobe prices through sales, and the platform also needs OpenSearch, Valkey, and RabbitMQ to run. Vendure publishes its prices and includes B2B in every paid plan. If you are moving off Magento, the Magento migration guide shows what the move involves. See Vendure compared with Adobe Commerce.
3. SAP Commerce Cloud
SAP Commerce Cloud fits enterprises that already run on SAP and sell to large procurement teams, with org units, budgets, multi-level approvals, quote negotiation, and punchout. It is sold as a negotiated subscription and runs on Microsoft Azure, and its Java stack with SAP's own Type System and ImpEx means hiring for skills specific to the platform. Vendure's Enterprise plan covers the same procurement needs, including PunchOut and multi-level approvals, from a published starting price, on a TypeScript stack. See Vendure compared with SAP Commerce and our guide to planning a SAP Commerce migration.
4. Sana Commerce
Sana Commerce reads prices, stock, and customer data directly from SAP or Microsoft Dynamics. That keeps every price in the ERP, and also ties the webshop to those ERPs: if you run something else, or plan to change ERP, it is not an option. Vendure's Enterprise plan reaches the same result with any ERP, through an advanced pricing connector built for yours.
5. Shopify Plus
Shopify Plus is a quick way to add trade buyers to a consumer shop, with company accounts, net terms, catalogs, and quick order. Its B2B has no buyer approval rules, quotes, or punchout, an order can have at most 500 lines, and Plus costs $2,300 a month on a three-year term plus 0.20% per transaction on third-party payment providers. Vendure includes quotes from Starter and approvals from Scale, with no fee on order value. See Vendure compared with Shopify Plus.
6. BigCommerce
BigCommerce B2B Edition adds a hosted buyer portal with account hierarchies, buyer roles, quotes, and an invoice portal, with punchout through a third-party app. Approvals are single-step and list-based, plans carry GMV allowances with automatic upgrades, and B2B Edition is priced separately. Vendure has multi-level approvals on Enterprise, B2B in every paid plan, and no GMV-based pricing. See Vendure compared with BigCommerce.
7. commercetools
commercetools suits large groups with a platform engineering team. You get no source access, and API Extensions are capped at 25 per project, so your business logic runs in services you build and host beside the platform. Pricing is quoted by sales and based on orders, and there is no built-in CPQ or punchout. With Vendure, your logic runs inside the platform as plugins, and the configurator and PunchOut are part of Enterprise. See Vendure compared with commercetools.
8. Spryker
Spryker packages B2B as ready-made capabilities and adds a marketplace suite. Its code is readable but proprietary, production use needs an active contract, and pricing is a sales-quoted annual subscription. Vendure publishes its prices, from $229 a month. See Vendure compared with Spryker.
9. Intershop
Intershop is a Java platform with a packaged B2B model, including cost centres, budgets, requisitions, and OCI and cXML punchout. It runs as a hosted service on Microsoft Azure, sold in packages without published prices, and ships at least two major releases a year that can include breaking changes. Vendure upgrades leave your plugins alone. See Vendure compared with Intershop.
10. Shopware
Shopware has a large agency network in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Its B2B features start on the Evolve plan from €2,400 a month, plans are priced on GMV, approvals are single-step, and no plan includes punchout. Vendure includes order approvals from Scale at $2,899 a month and PunchOut on Enterprise. See Vendure compared with Shopware and the Shopware migration guide.
11. OroCommerce
OroCommerce is a B2B platform sold in a Community and an Enterprise edition, with Enterprise pricing on request. Vendure lists every capability and price per plan on its pricing page.

Vendure for manufacturersHow to choose
- Pull 90 days of real orders. List every rule they follow: who orders, which price applies, which pack size, who approves, and where the order ends up.
- Start from your ERP. Ask each vendor who builds the integration and what happens to an order when the ERP is down.
- Map how you sell. Dealers, distributors, key accounts, and direct buyers each need their own prices and rules. Check that one platform can serve all of them from one catalogue.
- Demo your three hardest orders. A configured product, an order that needs approval, and a PunchOut order if your customers ask for one.
- Ask about the last big upgrade. Where does custom code live, and what did the last major upgrade cost a customer like you?
- Price five years. Count the licence at the revenue you expect, plus implementation, integrations, hosting, upgrades, and the manual work that is left. Our B2B ecommerce TCO guide walks through it.
You can test the first four steps on Vendure yourself: every self-serve plan starts with a 30-day free trial.
Frequently asked questions
Vendure is the strongest fit for manufacturers that sell through dealers, distributors, and direct buyers from one catalogue. It includes company accounts with branches, packaging units, quotes, contract pricing, order approvals, a product configurator, and PunchOut, connects to any ERP, and has flat published prices with no fee on order value. SAP-centred enterprises also look at SAP Commerce Cloud, and large groups with platform teams at commercetools or Spryker.
Orders keep flowing when the ERP is slow or down, upgrades leave your customisations alone, B2B rules are built in instead of added through apps, you own the code and data, and the price does not jump when revenue grows. Vendure covers all five: workflows that retry failed ERP calls, extensions in your own code, B2B capabilities in every paid plan, code and data you own, and flat plan prices.
Vendure includes cXML PunchOut on its Enterprise plan. SAP Commerce Cloud and Intershop include punchout, and BigCommerce offers it through a third-party app. Shopify and Shopware do not include punchout.
The ERP stays in charge of stock, prices, customers, and production. With Vendure, a workflow sends each order to the ERP, waits for the sales-order number, and writes it back, retrying only the call that failed if the ERP is slow. Stock and price changes flow back in real time, by event, or on a schedule. On Enterprise, advanced pricing pulls contract prices straight from the ERP or CPQ.
For simple B2B, yes. Shopify supports company accounts, catalogs, net terms, and quick order, but has no buyer approval rules, quotes, or punchout, and orders are limited to 500 lines. Manufacturers with procurement-led customers usually need a platform built for B2B, such as Vendure.
Vendure plans start at $229 a month on a 12-month term, with packaging units and dealer branches on Growth at $689, contract pricing and approvals on Scale at $2,899, and PunchOut and the configurator on Enterprise from €60,000 a year, with no fee on order value. Shopify Plus starts at $2,300 a month plus payment fees, Shopware's B2B features at €2,400 a month, and Adobe Commerce, SAP Commerce Cloud, commercetools, Spryker, and Intershop quote through sales.
